United manager claiming he is involved in next season’s plans

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has raised more questions about the Old Trafford hot seat next season.

It’s been thought for months now that Jose Mourinho is set to replace Van Gaal in Manchester this summer, but in a recent statement the Dutchman currently in charge, he hinted that that may not be the case,

Van Gaal said: “Yes, I am involved so that’s not any discussion and it’s also logical because I am the manager.

“We have seen that we are in a transition period and when I was mentioned as the coach it was also about that we have discussed and when I took over we had more than five or six players above 32 or 33 and then you have to select and you have to buy other players.”

United are currently preparing for tomorrow’s game with Leicester at Old Trafford, where a defeat for The Red Devils would result in Leicester securing the Premier League title.

Champions League football and an FA Cup trophy are both still achievable though for Van Gaal, who is still hoping to see out his contract in Manchester, set to expire at the end of next season.
