Having succesfully tempted Olivier Giroud into a new £80k-a-week contract this week, Arsene Wenger is now looking at rewarding Theo Walcott.
The Gunners have made moves to secure the long-term futures of several of their star players recently.
The England international’s current deal expires in 2016, and the French boss wants to secure his long-term future as soon as possible.
The dynamic winger only signed a new deal last year worth around £100,000 a week, after having rejected a longer contract offer worth £75,000 a week.
The former Southampton graduate will no doubt be delighted that Mr Wenger sees him in his long-term plans.
It has to be said that there is plenty of ‘feel-good’ news coming out of the Emirates this week…..optimism will be afoot in the pubs and clubs around North London.
