Atletico Madrid centre midfielder Koke has revealed why he decided to stay in Spain, and turn down interest from England.
The 22 year old was very much sought after by English sides, with the midfielder rejecting the chance to sign for the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the summer.
Unlike Diego Costa for example, who moved to Chelsea for a £32 million fee, he decided to remain with the La Liga title holders.
And it was his love for the club, which convinced him to remain in Madrid, in what has been a summer of change for Atletico.
“Atletico is my home, it’s my life.
“I decided to stay to enjoy one of the best moments in the history of this club.
“The club did not need to sell and I did not want to leave.”
