Former Blue joined Arsenal this summer

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says that the club are not missing the influence of Petr Cech this season, following his summer move to rivals Arsenal.

Cech joined the Gunners in July and was replaced by former Stoke stopper Asmir Begovic, who was forced into action last weekend following the red card to Thibaut Courtouis.

Mourinho was asked whether the Blues had missed the Czech’s presence at the Bridge, only for him to say they instead have strengthened a rival side and not weakened themselves in the process.

Mourinho Doesn’t Miss Legend

”We don’t miss Petr,’ the 52-year-old manager said. ”We’ve got a good keeper, the problem with Petr is not that we miss him because we have two excellent keepers.

”The problem with Petr is that an opponent is better than before.

”Thibaut and Asmir are two fantastic keepers. My club did very well by getting a keeper on time and not on the August 31.’

Cech has been seen as the missing jigsaw piece in Arsenal‘s title bid, however he did not get off to the best of starts having arguably been at fault for both of West Ham‘s goals in their 2-0 home defeat to the Hammers last Sunday.
