The England international will fall down the ranks at Old Trafford with the addition of Radamel Falcao, plus Louis van Gaal has made his intentions of getting rid of Welbeck clear.
The Red Devils have prepared to offload the 23 year-old, with many clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly tracking the situation, but it is thought that the striker’s preferred move would be to White Hart Lane.
It has been claimed that Welbeck will not be able to finalise his move by the end of the transfer window but if he does mange to, then Spurs will most likely be the club to win his signature although his wage demands of £105,000 a week may be more than the North London are willing to comply with.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be keen on bring in the England youngster to bolster his attacking options and provide some back for Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado.
