The side Arsenal have just defeated 3-0, Cardiff City, changed their home colours from blue to red after instructions from owner Vincent Tan at the beginning of last season. This sparked controversy and anger among the Cardiff supporters, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists it would be “impossible” for the same to happen to the Gunners.
“For us, it’s impossible to change colours,” Wenger said. “I don’t know what happened at Cardiff but he [Vincent Tan] managed to do it.
“If you take the case of Arsenal, with the history of the Club, it would be extremely difficult.”
Wenger was keen to add that even if someone offered the club a large sum of money, a kit change would simply not happen, and even added his association with teams in red: “It is a coincidence that my whole life I managed only red teams.”
