Wenger not making Remy move until summer

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has played down a possible move for Loic Remy – but admits he is a fan of the striker. Wenger has previously expressed his admiration for the forward but he has insisted there will be no talk of a possible move until summer.

Olivier Giorud has been the main force of attack for Arsenal this season and the Gunners are expected to be on the hunt for a new striker, to take some of the pressure off Giroud, at the end of the season. The QPR striker, who is currently on loan at Newcastle, has been mooted as a possible target.

Wenger is full of praise for his fellow frenchman, who has bagged 13 goals this season, but will not talk about a move for him until the transfer window opens. He said:

“He is a good striker but we are focused on the end of the season, not on strikers.”

Remy is set to leave QPR this summer as he has spoken of a desire to move to a one of the leading European clubs.
