Hammers want to sign Arsenal midfielder

Arsenal star Jack Wilshere is subject of interest from Premier League rivals West Ham United, according to reports.

The Hammers are believed to be interested in signing the injury-prone midfielder and could offer up to ÂŁ20million for him over the summer.

Wilshere is yet to kick a ball for Arsenal this season after breaking his leg in pre-season, and despite his return initially being stated as around Christmas time, he still hasn’t returned.

The midfielder has suffered setback after setback, and according to Arsene Wenger, he’s still three-to-four weeks away, resulting in him missing the title run-in.

Despite his injury nightmares and brittle bones, it’s believed Slaven Bilic is a huge admirer of the midfield-man and he is ready to give him a chance to resurrect his career at a new club.

With West Ham moving from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium over the summer, the club want to make star-signings throughout the transfer window in order to build excitement for the new era, and Wilshere is believed to be one of the main targets.

With the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and Mohamed Elneny all being central options in the midfield, Wilshere could be deemed a fringe player even if fit.

Despite being at Arsenal since he was a child, Wilshere was a boyhood West Ham fan, so if he were to leave the Emirates Stadium, the Hammers would be a likely destination.
