Uruguay are quietly confident that Luis Suarez will be fit to face England in the World Cup group stage.
The South American side face Roy Hodgson’s men on 19th June in Sao Paulo, and Suarez is set to be fit after several training sessions following a recent injury.
Suarez sustained the injury on the final day of the Premier League season, as Liverpool beat Newcastle, and was a doubt for the finals after an operation.
The Liverpool forward will however not be fit for Uruguay’s first fixture against Costa Rica this weekend.
And Suarez gava an update on the injury to the press.
“The knee is getting better,” he said. “I feel very good. I have to go day by day but everything is going the right way.”
