According to reports, World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon is interested in buying Newcastle United Football Club off current-owner Mike Ashley.
The self-made millionaire is roughly worth $1.1billion and could easily afford to buy the football club off Ashley, who is willing to sell due to the continous stick he gets from the fans, but at the moment, talks are in the preliminary stages.
WWE is a major entertainment company in the United States of America, and many sports fans in USA do choose to buy football clubs in the Premier League, but this would be classed as one of the strangest takeovers in world football.
McMahon is known for dealing with the likes of; Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Triple H and many more famours professional wrestlers, but could he soon be the big-boss at St James Park and working with professional footballers?
The 68-year-old is known to be a very clever business man and being worth $1.1billion proves that he can be successful in his projects, but running a football club will prove to be a huge test for the American.
