Aston Villa have completed the signing of Yannick Bolasie on a season long loan from Everton. The winger was heavily linked with a move to Middlesbrough this summer but the former Crystal Palace player will be seen at the Villa Park for the rest of the season.
Bolasie was surplus to requirements following the arrival of Richarlison and Bernard at the Goodison Park and Marco Silva sanctioned his departure. The DR Congo international hasn’t been able to justify his price tag as he has struggled to make an impact since he arrived at the club two years ago.
Bolasie was snapped in the Villa Park stands as Villa played out a 2-2 draw against Brentford and the announcement was only a matter of time. Life in Championship could prove to be difficult to adjust and Bolasie is hoping he could help the club in gaining a promotion. “Going up, that’s the main thing.
“A club of this stature has to be in the Premier League. I went round and thought, ‘wow’. My mrs thought wow as well and the kids enjoyed it. It’s Premier League for me, that’s for sure. I’m here to make myself smile again and enjoy the game.”
