Angel Di Maria heading to Manchester United

0

The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from Madrid after another fine season at the Champions League winners, scoring 11 goals and assisting 26 in all competitions.

And reports in Spain claim that his agent, Jorge Mendes, expects Di Maria to join Old Trafford as Real edge closer to signing Monaco’s James Rodriguez.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is understood to be open offers in the region of £40m, with his performances at the World Cup increasing his valuation.

United have wasted no time at all in the transfer market as new boss Louis Van Gaal prepares to take the club back into Europe, splashing in excess of £60m on Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera already.

i Maria looks set to become the third after reportedly feeling undervalued at the Bernabeu and has previously revealed that he will make a decision after the World Cup.

“For now, I’m just thinking the World Cup. We’ll see what happens with Madrid and if they want to continue, he said.

“Honestly, I know that there are offers and interested clubs.”

Arsenal, who broke their transfer record with the signing of Mesut Ozil from Madrid last season, are also interested in Di Maria’s services, while Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen on a Stamford Bridge reunion with the winger.

Liverpool want Seattle Sounders’ DeAndre Yedlin on trial

0

Liverpool want to sign Yedlin for a trial during pre-season training, according to reports.

The Seattle Sounders defender, aged 20, caught the eye with an excellent substitute appearance during the US’s World Cup round of 16 defeat to Belgium.

But he was apparently already on the Reds’ radar after his performances in the Under-20 World Cup.

Reports in America suggest that Liverpool want him to join them for a trial spell during pre-season with a view to making a permanent move if he impresses at close quarters.

The pacy youngster offers versatility as he can play at right-back, left-back or as a winger. He delivered a marauding performance at full-back against Belgium, getting involved in attacks but also racing back to combat opposition attacks.

He also bagged an assist after a substitute appearance against Portugal earlier in the tournament.

Debuchy set for Arsenal move

0

Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to have a medical at Arsenal after the Magpies accepted a £7.8m offer for the French international.

Arsenal made Debuchy their no.1 target last week following the departing of Bacary Sagna to Manchester City. French media claim that the fee could rise to around £12million with bonuses, but The Gunners will feel like they have grabbed a bargain when the deal goes through as expected.

Newcastle are already out looking for a replacement, and are in talks with Feyenoord over Daryl Janmaat and Man City’s Micah Richards. Debuchy is now free to sort out a transfer after France were knocked out of the World Cup by Germany on Friday, and yesterday he removed the words ‘Newcastle player’ from his bio on Twitter.

Chelsea in talks with Sporting over Rojo deal

0

Chelsea have opened talks with Sporting Lisbon over a £15m deal for full-back Marcos Rojo. The 24-year old has done well for Argntina at the World Cup this summer and he has caught the eye of Jose Mourinho, who is now working on a move.

The Blues are in need of a new left-back, with Ashley Cole leaving the club. They were desperate to sign Filipe Luis but it is believed that the club have been priced out of a move for the Atletico Madrid man, so they now turned their attention fully to Rojo.

Sporting are already resigned to losing the player, having received enquiries from both Sevilla and Liverpool too, but Chelsea are confident they will get their man. According to Abola, initial talks took place this week over a potential deal and the Blues are willing to pay up to £15m, which may be an offer Sporting can’t refuse.

Wenger must be prepared to spend big, says Groves

0

Arsene Wenger will need to be prepared to spend big if he wants to secure his top targets this summer, according to ex-Arsenal man Perry Groves. The Gunners boss is still to do any business in this transfer window but he is hopeful of securing deals for Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy when the World Cup is over.

Out-of-favour Barca man Bojan is also set to make the move to the Emirates according to recent reports. But Groves has warned that the Frenchman may need to become more flexible with regards to his transfer policy. He told TalkSport:

“Arsenal need to change their transfer policy slightly. Currently, Wenger has a figure that he thinks a player is worth and refuses to go above that. Sometimes though, you have to. If you have to spend £3-4m more than you thought, but the player is that important to the team, then you have to spend it.

“Arsenal at the moment are a very cash rich club, sometimes they have to spend a little bit more than what Wenger thinks the player is worth.”

Arsenal sign exciting Finland goalkeeper

0

Arsenal have beaten off competition from Liverpool to sign exciting HJK Helsinki goalkeeper Hugo Keto.

The Finnish under-19 passed a medical for the Gunners last week and has now signed a 3-year contract at the Emirates. However, his arrival has upset Liverpool, who were expecting to bring him to Anfield over the coming weeks.

Keto, a boyhood Liverpool fan, spent time last season playing for The Reds last season on a trial, and played several matches for the youth team. He also spent time in Arsenal’s acadamy, but Livepool were expecting him to return to them over the summer- ahead of signing a deal.

However, Arsenal successfully hijacked the move and Keto will now become an Arsenal youth-team player.

Liverpool ‘accept £63million bid from Barcelona for Suarez

0

Talks in the media surrounding whether or not Suarez will make the move to Spain have been on and off.

Well, According to Catalan TV station TV3, Barca made the offer this morning and after further negotiations, Liverpool have now accepted the deal.

The news comes after the Reds rejected Barca’s opening £55.7million bid this week, and demanded much more in order to do business.

Barca now expect Suarez to travel to Spain for a medical in the coming days, with a five-year contract being offered.

Liverpool had previously suggested that they wouldn’t sell Suarez for anything less than £75 million, but appear to have altered their position with Suarez making it clear that he did not want to stay at Anfield any longer.

Suarez, who is currently serving a four-month ban from ‘all footballing activities’, was given the green light this week by Fifa to have a medical with Barca, after suggestions he wouldn’t be able to.

Liverpool reject Barcelona’s £55 million bid for Luis Suarez

0

Liverpool have rejected Barcelona’s £55 million offer for Luis Suarez, reports in Spain suggest.

Both parties have been locked in serious negotiations with one another, as Barcelona officials met their Liverpool counterparts in London over the last week or so.

And Liverpool have told the Spanish La Liga side that they demand £75 million for their controversial 27 year old Uruguayan striker.

Barcelona have the funds and will be willing to pay what Liverpool value the player at, once they offload Alexis Sanchez, with both Arsenal, and Liverpool keen to land the Chile forward.

Suarez is currently under a four month ban from FIFA, following a biting incident with Giorgio Chiellini which occured during Uruguay’s 1-0 win over Italy at the World Cup finals.

Any deal would have to be passed by FIFA, who have told Suare that he is free to have a medical at Barcelona, should the two sides agree a fee for the controversial centre forward.

It is presumed that even if he signs for the club, he would be unable for selection until late October at least.

Suare scored 31 goals last season for Liverpool.

Southampton reject £18m bid for Lovren

0

Southampton have reportedly rejected an £18million bid from Liverpool for their centre-back Dejan Lovren.

The Croatian international is reportedly keen on joining Anfield this summer, and if it happens will become the 3rd Saints player to do so since the end of the season, with Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana having already been snapped up by the Reds. He was on of several key players last season at St Mary’s, and is now trying to force a move to Anfield through by threatening to not take part in pre-season training.

It is thought Liverpool have tried to take advantage of the situation and make an £18million bid for the player, which has been reportedly turned down. The Saints are reluctant to let him leave for less than £25million, having bought him from Lyon last summer for just £8.5mil.

New boss Ronald Koeman is hoping to keep hold of the rest of his squad as he prepares for his debut season in the Premier League, but is unlikely to make players stay against their will. Liverpool have wasted no time in this transfer market so far, spending over £40million combined on Lallana, Lambert and midfielder Emre Can.

Patrice Evra up for shock move to Juventus

0

Manchester United left-back could be about to make a shock move to Italian champions Juventus after being persuaded to by France team mate and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

Evra only just signed a one-year deal at Old Trafford in May, but is apparently keen on a move to Italy, after a dreadful season at United. Meanwhile, Juventus boss Antonio Conte is eager to improve his squad after their abismal Champions League campaign last season, which saw them crash out at the group stages.

Italian media have claimed that Conte has instructed Pogba to discuss a possible move to Turin with Evra while in Brazil. Evra may have motivation to leave after United signed Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, a talented 18 year old who made it into England’s World Cup squad.

United are also thought to have an interest in bringing Pogba back to Old Trafford after they sold him on the cheap in 2009, however, that possible move has cooled down recently with new boss Louis van Gaal reportedly turning his attention elsewhere. A move for midfielder Artuto Vidal could be possible though, with the Chilean admitting recently that he would be open to a move to Manchester.

Arsenal target Bojan

0

The 23 year-old was seen to be the promising new star to arise from the Camp Nou due to his keen attacking ability and eye for goal.

He made his debut for the Catalan club back in 2007, breaking Lionel Messi’s record as the youngest Barca player to feature in the league, however his career has never really taken off.

He has spent the last three years on loan at a number of clubs including Roma, AC Milan and Ajax but has not managed more than 10 goals a season in 7 years.

But now reports in Spain claim Arsene Wenger is interested in signing Bojan and giving him the chance to shine in the Premier League.

Wenger is also known to be keen on his Barca team-mate Alexis Sanchez however Bojan is a more realistic and cheaper target for the Gunners.

The Arsenal boss once described Bojan as a ‘very special player’ and the Spaniard would suit Arsenal’s style of play playing on either wing or as a centre-forward.

Liverpool were linked with Bojan but it is not clear whether Brenden Rodgers is still keen on signing him after securing deals for Adam Lallana and Emre can.

Spanish side Deportiva La Coruna are known to be interested in acquiring his services but they would struggle to pay his wages and this is where Arsenal would have the edge.

Leverkusen win fight for Calhanoglu

0

Hakan Calhanoglu has had his future under much speculation this summer and has attracted interest from a number of top Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

However the 20 year-old has opted to stay in Germany and has signed for Bayer Leverkusen this week for a reported £11m.

The Turk has signed a five year deal with the club and after despite being linked most heavily with Liverpool, he will remain in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool’s interest has delclined in the past few weeks however with the signing of Adam Lallana and with Emre Can already in their ranks, this news will be less disastrous for them.

The man dubbed the ‘new Ozil’ scored 11 goals in 32 league appearances last term and will provide sufficient ammunition for a side which will once again challenge in the Champions League.

Meanwhile Chelsea’s persuit of an attacking midfielder goes on and Arsenal will turn their attention fully to the chase of Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
