Chelsea ready to battle two Serie A clubs to sign Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira

0

Chelsea have been linked with the Germany international since Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge last year as the midfielder was a key player for the Portuguese manager during his time in charge of the Bernabeu giants.

Real Madrid splashed out big to sign two young central midfielders, Isco and Asier Illarramendi, last year, while Xabi Alonso has signed a new contract and Luka Modric has become an integral first-team player under Carlo Ancelotti.

As such, Khedira could be made available for sale, with Bild claiming Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers of around £20.5m for the 27-year-old.

Chelsea are not the only club expected to pursue the former Stuttgart man, with Roma and Fiorentina also on his trail. It is believed both Italian clubs have made tentative enquiries to Real Madrid.

Khedira missed six months of action this season with a cruciate knee ligament injury and made his return to Real Madrid’s starting line-up in their 2-0 defeat at Celta Vigo last weekend.

Atletico Madrid put spanner in Costa deal?

0

Spanish side Atletico Madrid have claimed that all reports saying Diego Costa to Chelsea is a done deal are false.

The La Liga leaders have spoken briefly about the reports in England claiming that a £32million deal was already in place for the Summer, and they believe that all reports are rubbish and no deal is in place as it stands.

Fighting for both the Champions League and the leauge title, Madrid are keen to keep most of the focus on the remaining games of the season, but after reports broke about the potential transfer, they have had to speak out about it and they have revealed that the news is rubbish.

A representative of the club confirmed that the stories are false and they have denied all reports suggesting the move is in place.

A further blow to Chelsea is the fact that Costa himself has said the stories are false, despite him putting on his instagram that he is moving to Chelsea.

When told about the reports linking him with the move, Costa replied with: ‘Yes? People say a lot of rubbish…’.

It is not understood whether this is an attempt from Madrid to put the transfer news in the background ahead of two massive matches or whether they genuinely believe they are keeping the Spaniard at the club.

Lallana may have to force through transfer request

0

Adam Lallana may have to submit a transfer request at Southampton, if he is to leave St Mary’s for Liverpool, before the World Cup finals.

The 26 year old is high upon the list of transfer targets for Brendan Rodgers, and may fear that a transfer request may be his only route out of the club, with Southampton stubborn over a fee.

The Saints are asking for around £25 million for Lallana’s services, with Liverpool keen to do a deal before he jets off to Brazil for the World Cup finals.

Lallana himself has already stated that he wishes to play Champions future in the football.

England manager Roy Hodgson has stated that he hopes that both Lallana and Shaw get their long term future’s sorted out within the near future, before the England side head out to Miami for a pre World Cup training camp on 1st June.

And it appears that if deals are to be done, both Liverpool and Manchester United will need to act quickly to sign the Southampton starlets.

Manchester United eye Hummels as Ferdinand replacement

0

Manchester United are showing interest in Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, as they prepare for life without star-duo, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

The two centre-backs are set to leave Old Trafford this Summer, with Vidic heading to Inter Milan on a free, and Ferdinand leaving the club also, but his future plans are not clear as of yet.

Despite no official permanent manager in place at the club just yet, transfer bids are still taking place, and potential targets are still being monitored, with reports suggesting a £27million bid for Southampton’s Luke Shaw has been made.

However, United know that they really need to buy a couple of centre-backs in order to replace both Vidic and Ferdinand, whom has been instrumental in many of their title-winning sides, and it appears that they have found one of their targets.

Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, is on United’s wishlist and a formal Summer bid could be in line once a new manager is in place, believed to be Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal.

The 25-year-old is highly rated around Europe and is growing into one of the best defenders in world football, and it’s reported that United are prepared to pay whatever it takes to sign the German international.

Jose Mourinho wants to seal Frank Lampard deal

0

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to open contract talks with veteran midfielder Frank Lampard, just a day after the club confirmed captain John Terry had put pen-to-paper.

The two Englishmen, along with Ashley Cole, are playing on 12-month contracts due to a club policy which sees any player over the age of 30 only be offered one-year deals every Summer, but with Cole set to leave the club, it could just be Terry and Lampard staying at Stamford Bridge.

Terry signed his 12-month deal yesterday, much to the delight of the fans and the club, and now Mourinho is keen to wrap up Lampard’s future as well.

It’s believe the club are confident they can keep hold of Lampard, but despite Mourinho wanting to keep hold of left-back, Cole, there is a feeling within the camp that he may have played his last game for the club after a lack of first-team appearances throughout the season.

Manchester United will sign Luke Shaw from Southampton for £27million

0

The same day he was named in the England World Cup squad, Shaw is also on the brink of completing the transfer to Old Trafford.

The deal is expected to be announced before the tournament in Brazil.

Despite finishing seventh in the Premier League this season, United are confident they have won the race for the 18-year-old left back ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea.

Shaw expects to get first-team football at Old Trafford and that clinched the deal, even though United have yet to name their new manager.

A powerful attacking asset, Shaw will replace France defender Patrice Evra.

United are eager to make up for their errors last summer, when they were clumsy in the transfer market, and believe this will send out a message as they start to rebuild.

The transfer will lead to the break-up of the Southampton team with midfielder Adam Lallana expected to join Liverpool and manager Mauricio Pochettino a target for Tottenham.

Mascherano to make Liverpool return?

0

Javier Mascherano has opened the door on a sensational return to Liverpool. The Barca midfielder could be available for £9m this summer as his contract has just one year left.

His agents are currently searching for a new club for the midfielder and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards. He is also being tracked by Napoli, but he would much rather move to Anfield, a club which he left on good terms. reports are claiming that Liverpool would indeed be interested in making a move.

He and a number of players for Barca are set to be sold in the transfer window, as the Spanish giants look to overhaul their squad. Mascherano himself believes his time in Spain is over and also believes it could be coming to an end for other first-team players. He said: “It could be the last for many players.”

With the 29-year old looking for a move away, it could be Liverpool who welcome him back for a second stint at the club.

Sergio Aguero rejects transfer talk

0

Sergio Aguero has rejected talks that he could be moving away from Manchester City this summer, insisting he wants to win more trophies at The Eithad.

Aguero has had his season interrupted by several hamstring injuries, and despite this has often been linked with moves to Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

However, he has now pledged his future to Manchester City after helping them claim their 2nd Premier League title in three seasons on Sunday.

“I’m so happy. It was an amazing moment to win another title,” said Aguero.

“I’ll be back next year even stronger to win more trophies.”

Aguero’s strike partner Edin Dzeko has also denied he will be moving away this summer, playing down rumours he might be on his way to Inter Milan.

“For the last three years the people were talking and talking and I am still here,” Dzeko told the club’s official website.

Meanwhile, City defender Pablo Zabaleta has set his sights on winning the Champions League after winning everything domestically.

City have won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup and the League Cup during the last four years and Zabaleta insists everyone is determined to go all the way in Europe’s premier competition after disappointing in Europe during the last three seasons.

“The Champions League is a competition where you play against the best teams in Europe, and on those days, you have to perform well in big games,” noted Zabaleta.

“The Premier League is different, it’s week in, week out. You have 38 games and if you drop points, you have the chance to win the next game.

“The Champions League is a competition where if you make one mistake, you are out.

“We know how difficult it is to reach the final of the Champions League and win it. I think these players are thinking about it.

“Looking forward, it’s a competition we are very excited about trying to win. The owners, everyone is looking forward to this. But step by step – for now, we need to celebrate this title, then we’ll see next season.”

Ashley Cole has plenty of options this summer

0

Ashley Cole is out of contract at Chelsea this summer, but has plenty of other options in terms of where to go when he leaves.

He’s been left out of the World Cup squad, and left out in the cold at Stamford Bridge, so what is next for the 33 year old? Wherever he goes, he can almost guarentee first team football. He’s been targeted by several big Premier League and European clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid. This list goes on, with Monaco also showing interest.

City aren’t short of left backs, while Brendan Rodgers has shown strong faith in young left back Jon Flanagan this season. Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger needs a replacement for the injured Kieran Gibbs, though could Cole return to a club he left on such bad terms? Stranger things have happened.

Cole has often considered going abroad, in his 2006 autobiography ‘My Defence’ he wrote: ‘I’d entertained European thoughts. Ask any player with ambition; they’ll all do it from time to time.

‘Nothing concrete, just tossing clubs around like a kid dreaming impossible dreams: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan.’

Alot of interest in Cole has recently come from the United States, with New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy both understood to be interested.

John Terry talks after signing new deal

0

Chelsea defender John Terry has spoken out for the first time since signing his new 12-month deal at the club.

The Blues skipper, who was rumoured to be leaving this Summer due to his contract expiring, put pen to paper on his new deal this afternoon, and he is now set to stay until the Summer of 2015 at least.

As he’s over 30-years-old, Chelsea will only offer him one-year extensions at a time, but the 33-year-old is still delighted to have committed to at least another season at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “I’m delighted to have signed an extension to my contract with Chelsea taking me into my 20th year with the club.

“I’d like to thank the fans and club for their continued support, and the manager [Jose Mourinho] who was instrumental for me the last season.”

The club’s chief executive Ron Gourlay has also been talking about the extension, and he has revealed his delight at a ‘legend’ signing a new deal.

‘We are very pleased John, who is an undoubted Chelsea legend, will continue to lead the team next season, as he has done for so many years with unrivalled achievement.”

Wilkins: Lukaku must stay at Chelsea

0

Chelsea would be mad to let Romelu Lukaku leave the club this summer, according to the Blues’ former coach and player Ray Wilkins. The striker’s future has been in doubt since he joined Everton on a season-long loan last summer, even though the Stamford Bridge side have limited attacking options themselves.

Even though he had a good season at the Toffee’s it still appears that he won’t be getting playing time at Chelsea. In fact, he may be waving goodbye to the club as reports suggest the Belgian may be offered to Atletico in a part-exchange deal for Diego Costa.

But Ray Wilkins believes they should keep Lukaku at the club. He said:

“Lukaku has to come back to Chelsea in my opinion. This young man is the closest thing you’ll see to the ‘Drog’ [Didier Drogba] at such a young age.

Chelsea are currently in talks over a £32m move for Diego Costa and the club are expected to announce his arrival next month, while they are also keeping an eye on Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich.

Bayer Leverkusen lead race for Calhanoglu

0

Bayer Leverkusen are now leading the race to sign Hamburg star Hakan Calhanoglu, according to the agent of the 20-year old who is also wanted by Chelsea and Liverpool. The Turkey international has been one of the breakout stars of the 2013/14 Bundesliga season.

Calhanoglu did sign a contract extension at the German side, which contracts him to the club until 2018, but reports are suggesting he wants out following Hamburg’s struggles this season. Now, a number of top sides are considering a £10m move, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Despite this, the midfielder’s agent, Bektas Demirtas, believes a move to Bayer Leverkusen seems much more likely. He said:

“If he should move within Germany, then Leverkusen have the greatest chance of signing him. They are a club, playing European football, who want him and who are willing to pay an appropriate price. The dream of a player is to always play at a level as high as possible and maybe to hear the music of the Champions League.

“Hamburg have the decision-making authority. If he has to stay, we have to accept that.”
