Arsenal’s hopes before 11pm tonight.

0

Arsene Wenger only knows one way to run a transfer window these days… that’s badly. He admitted he had a ‘problem’ with managing the window and in the next breath said he wouldn’t ever entertain a Director of Football to help him. Anyway, things didn’t used to be like this, he signed ten players in 2000 and five in 2001. He’s trying to rework our memories to believe that life has always been like this. He’s going into tonight with an idea of what he might like… but no idea of who he’ll get. Bad management whatever way you look at it.

The first team issues that need taking care of right away are the keeping area and the striking area. That must happen right away. I have no idea who we could buy up front, the simple fact is at the highest level, Giroud isn’t cutting it. Not just from a finishing perpective, but from a mobility one. He’s not fast enough and he’s not clinical enough. Goalkeeper wise, it’s simple… sign Begovic. He’s probably the best keeper in the league. Stoke have a back-up ready to take his place, so they’ll look to sell if they can. Managers always undervalue keepers. If you pay £15m for a 26-year-old now… he could be good for ten years.

Errrr… everybody. We have 11 fit bodies. We can’t sell anyone. Things are so bad at Arsenal right now, we’ve had to bring Nik B back in from the dark as our second striker. A total shambles really. But this is Arsene Wenger in the Emirates era, a shadow of his former self, a man drifting into an area of the football swimming pool that is out of his depth.

An Arsenal fan tweeted this on Sunday night. “We’re pretty rubbish at deadline day signings. Last time we went crazy we spent money on Arteta (win), Mertesacker (win), Benayoun (not terrible), Santos (worst left back ever) and Park Chu-young (who?).” He has a good point, Arsene Wenger believes in young new talent rather than pay big money for already Super Stars. But before he signed Santi Cazorla from Malaga, not a lot of people knew who he was and he has turned out to be one of the best midfielders not just in the Premier League but the World, if you disagree one would say you havent got the slightest clue in Football.

Mesut Ozil to Manchester United or Arsenal?

0

Mesut Ozil remains at Real Madrid after having much interest in him in the past few weeks by a few Premier League Clubs. His representatives are in talks with Manchester United, however Arsenal have made an Official £42.5 Million and a Sky Sports News reporter said this morning “Man United have said that they are not in the running to sign Mesut Ozil” which is great news for Arsenal considering Manchester United will outbid Arsenal easily if they wanted.

Arsene Wenger stays coy on the subject and has given no offcial statement on the subject. But as you know Transfer Deadline Day is a game for most clubs, with clever tricks and financial deals being doubled so it will be an interesting day for all of us Football fans.

Demichelis Signs for Manchester City

0

Martin Demichelis has signed for Manchester City from Atletico Madrid after passing a medical on Sunday morning. The fee is understood to be £3.5 million, Demichelis was keen to reignite his partnership with City manager Manuel Pellegrini who he had worked with at River Plate and Malaga.

Demichelis said : “I am delighted to have joined City because I am still hungry for success and want to improve.I have been in Europe for 11 years now and this was a great chance for me to play in the Premier League with such a big club.”

“When there is a change, there is always a process. There’s always a period of adjustment you have to go through. Moving from South America to Europe is a big change and you need some time to settle in because everything is new.”

“But in my case, I have lived in Europe for many years and I don’t think there’ll be any problems in adjusting to life here. Now I want to repay the manager’s faith in me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to get started.”

Demichelis move to City had been delayed as they waited on his replacement, Toby Alderweld, to sign for Atletico.

0

Do you think this transfer is a possibility and if so would he be a good addition to the Arsenal squad?

Injury Worries For Club and Country

0

England manager Roy Hodgson and several Premier League manager’s face a major headache with an injur plagued afternoon.

Wayne Rooney has been deemed unfit to play in the crucial qualifying games against Moldova and Ukraine with a head wound, Rooney missed Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to rivals Liverpool on Sunday afternoon after suffering a head wound during a challenge with Phil Jones in training. The defender caught Rooney with a high boot and David Moyes has said that Rooney has ‘no chance’ of playing for England.

‘It was just a boot, Phil Jones caught him right down the middle of his forehead. It will probably three weeks.’

Ironically it is Jones who is also a major injury doubt for England after he had to leave the field after just 37 minutes at Anfield, he has to be replaces by Antonio Valencia after he landed awkwardly after a headed battle with Liverpool playmaker Phillipe Coutinho.

Sturridge was the match winner at Anfield scoring his thrid goal of the campaign in as many games, after the game the former Chelsea man admitted he had played through the pain barrier to make himself available for the fixture.

‘I had a problem with my thigh before the game, it’s still hindering me now, but I went out and put on a good performance for the boys. Hopefully I’ll be okay for the (England) squad.’

To add to Engalnd’s woes Glen Johnson was replaced with 10 minutes left and left the ground on crutches with a protective boot on. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said after the game ‘He took a bad knock – he turned onto his ankle.’

‘He’s getting treatment at the moment. It’s obviously quite bad for him to come off, but I’ll just need to see after.’
.

To top off a bad day, England and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was forced off the pitch at the Emirates after apparent stomach cramps.

Roy Hodgson has to select a strong team as England currently sit second in group H behind Montenegro, they host Moldova on Friday September 6th then visit third place Ukraine on Tuesday 10th September.

Cabaye Future Still Uncertain

0

It’s been a fustrating transfer window for Alan Pardew, the Newcastle United manager has only signed Loic Remy and sold 5 players, now its got even worse him as one of his most important and influentual players (Yohan Cabaye) has had a offer of 10/12million come through from north London giant’s Arsenal.

Cabaye refused to play for the first two games and went on strike after the Arsenal offer came through, he played for the first time of the season coming on as a sub in the 1-0 victory over Fulham, receiving a mixed response from the home support.

When asked if playing meant he was staying he replied with, ”it doesn’t because the window is open until 11pm (on monday) and all our players are vulnerable.”

After a few more questions Pardew comfirmed that no more bids have come through for the French midfielder, ”We’ve had no other bids yet otherwise we won’t be able to replace him and we won’t sell then”

Pardew went on to say he understood the mixed reception, ”I thought the fans got it right – it was a mixed reaction, some were saying to him Newcastle comes first, and others were just glad to see him because he is a great player, and I think that’s about right.”

Do you think Yohan Cabaye would be a good addition to the current Arsenal squad or should they look at different options?
