Leicester City defender becomes the latest member of the Leicester family to talk about the tragic loss in the helicopter crash which engulfed the club in October.
The crash saw the Leicester City family suffer tragic losses including the untimely passing away of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. The English defender was brought in from Hull City by the owner who has done much for the club and the city since he took over. Vichai has helped develop not only the football club but also the city by setting up hospitals among other charitable work.
When talking about the loss Leicester has had to suffer, Maguire spoke about the togetherness they have gained in fighting through this tough time. “It was such a sad moment for everyone,” he added. “It affected people in different ways. It did have an affect on the team, because we weren’t really training and people’s minds were elsewhere. We’re such a tight-knit group, it’s like a family. I think it’s important that everyone has stuck together and that’s what we’ve done. When I came to the club, it was exactly the same. There’s a reason they won the Premier League against all the odds.”
