F1 Highlights Today: Portuguese GP

Looking ahead to the Formula 1 Grand Prix event in Algarve, we have just witnessed another thriller at Nurburgring, Germany. Daniel Ricciardo drove the Renault to his first podium finish since 2018. Niko Hulkenburg managed an eighth-spot finish all the way from the position on the grid, winning driver of the day and edging Racing Point to third on the constructor’s charts.

Valtteri Bottas impressively grabbed first through qualifying but was left disappointed with engine failure once again. It has been a series of unfortunate incidents which has left him unable to fully compete with his teammate. Charles LeClerc started from fourth and finished the race at seventh, which is impressive considering the car he was driving.

The upcoming Portuguese Grand Prix for 2020 is due to be held in Algarve. This will be the first time Portugal will be hosting a Grand Prix since 1996, held in Autódromo do Estoril. We can expect an interesting showing on Sunday especially knowing the first episode of “The Grand Tour” was shot right here.

We can expect some clear weather on Sunday but you never really know for sure. It has been confirmed that one of the corners of the circuit was named after former World Supersport rider Craig Jones who was killed in a motorcycle crash at Brands Hatch in 2008.
