Manchester United winger Ashley Young has admitted that he could still leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

The England international is claimed to have rejected an offer from Chinese Super League side Shandong in January, but has found chances hard to come by at the Red Devils this season.

However, manager Jose Mourinho handed the captaincy to Young in United’s victory against Chelsea at the weekend, and his experience and ability to play a few positions makes him a good squad player at the Theatre of Dreams.

Young says game time will ultimately suggest where his future lies though.

“There is always speculation, especially when there is a transfer window and you’re not playing,” the 31-year-old said.

“But I have always said that I want to play as much as possible. What the future holds, I’m not too sure.

“I’m looking to play as many games as I can between now and the end of the season. That’s what I’m concentrating on now. That’s the main focus for me and then we’ll see what happens.”
