Doctor unhappy with Jose Mourinho treatment
Chelsea club doctor Eva Carneiro is set to be involved in a legal battle with Chelsea after her row with boss Jose Mourinho last month.
After rushing on to the pitch to tend to the injured Eden Hazard, she faced backlash from Mourinho for a supposed lack of understanding of the game, slowing down the Blues’ chance of a late attack.
Carneiro was punished by being banned from the touchline for the following game against Manchester City and has now had her position at the club relegated.
Formal Appeal
According to reports, the doctor could use sexism as past of her appeal, after being referred to as a “a secretary” by Mourinho in his pre-match comments about the situation.
The 41 year-old has been a member of the Chelsea medical staff since 2009 an could have the backing of FIFA, who are also supposedly looking into the incident.
