Odds slashed for Chelsea boss to lose his job

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be facing an uncertain future, according to bookies.

William Hill have once again slashed the odds of The Special One losing his job at Stamford Bridge following the side’s 3-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

The Blues have picked up just four points from five games, with a win against West Bromwich Albion and a draw against Swansea City.

However, defeats to Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Everton have left them scrapping near the bottom of the table.

William Hill have got Mourinho 7/2 to lose his job before the end of the year, and 5/2 to lose his job before the end of the season.

William Hill Statement

Spokesman Joe Crilly said: “Chelsea have had a woeful start to the season and you have to think that the race for the title is almost over before it has begun.

“Mourinho very rarely lasts longer than a couple of seasons at clubs and there is a feeling that his second stint at Stamford Bridge may be coming to a close.”

Despite the odds being slashed, Mourinho is still adamant that he’s under no pressure.

Mourinho Fighting Back

“Let’s be objective. I don’t want to leave the club, in any circumstances,” he said.

“And the club doesn’t want me to leave. I’m not going to walk away. The club is not going to sack me. Full stop.

“Why is it different from 2007? Do people think, if myself and Mr Abramovich collided, I would be back three years later?

“Just because I left it does not mean we collided. Right now we have one problem. We are not getting the results we expect to get.

“I have never had a start like this – four matches and just four points. I’m not happy – and I’m happy that I’m not happy.”
