Tottenham Hotspur are locked in a three-way battle for Manchester United playmaker Jesse Lingard.

Spurs are expected to face competition from Newcastle United and West Ham United for the England international, who is scheduled to become a free agent at the conclusion of the season.

Lingard has struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team starter at Old Trafford this season, causing his confidence to suffer on the field.

During this season, the 29-year-old has appeared in 14 matches for Manchester United, scoring twice and assisting once.

The Warrington-born star has came off the bench in all of his Premier League outings, which explains why he only averages 0.4 shots, 0.2 critical passes, and 0.1 dribbles per 90 minutes.

However, after completing 92.9 percent of his attempted passes in top-flight football, he has even been superb while exchanging possession with his teammates in the opponent’s half.

Lingard is a dynamic dribbler who can make some dangerous runs into the opposing penalty area. When he is on the pitch on a regular basis, he has the ability to make a key pass in the final third and can score a few important goals for his side.

Tottenham can surely need someone of Lingard’s caliber, as he will provide a lot of goals and creativity to Antonio Conte’s assault.

He still has a few more years left in him to play at a top level at the age of 29, and he is flexible enough to play in any position across the frontline.

Hence, Tottenham should prioritize on making an attempt to bring Lingard to North London when the transfer window commences in the summer.
