Manchester United could be set to announce their first signing under new manager, Louis Van Gaal as a deal for Fc Dnipro star, Yevhen Konoplyanka has edged closer to being confirmed.
Liverpool had been favourites to sign the winger after confirming their Champions League status, but it is now understood United are close to agreeing a £12 million deal for the player.
Konoplyanka sced eight goals in 27 appearances for Dnipro last season, and is expected to move on once the summer window opens.
A Dnipro source told Ukranian media that a bid of £12 million pounds would probably be enough to tempt the club to sell the player.
“Officially, there’s a specific amount for which we don’t have the right to not release Konoplyanka,” the source said.
“If Man United offer favourable conditions and agree terms with Konoplyanka, then no one can do anything.”
