Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is set for a January transfer away from France after he was left out of their Champions League squad.

The 19-year-old was expected to leave PSG in the Summer, but no formal bids came in for the starlet, despite both Premier League giants, Arsenal and Chelsea being interested in his signature.

Rabiot rejected a new deal from PSG and will leave the club next Summer on a free transfer, if not before, in January, and it’s believed that Arsenal and Chelsea will both renew their interest in the teenager once he becomes available.

The midfielder, who can play all over the park, including defence, is unhappy with life in Paris under Laurent Blanc due to falling down the pecking order since new signings have arrived.

It was revealed that Rabiot was close to joining Serie A side, AS Roma, just prior to deadline day, but any potential deal fell through.

PSG’s chief, said this: “We talked about Rabiot with Roma and other clubs.

“But we did not come to any agreement. I love the kid – I think he’s a great player and I want him to stay.

“I have tried to get him to renew his contract, but without success. He wants to leave.”
