Chelsea and Manchester United showing shock interest
Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is being monitored by Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United, according to reports.
The England international is a fringe player at the Emirates Stadium, despite starting and scoring against Bournemouth on Sunday, and reports today are claiming he’s unsettled at the club.
Chamberlain is believed to be worried about his long-term future and where he fits in Arsene Wenger‘s plans for the future, and that has sparked speculation surrounding the winger.
Chelsea have been previously linked with trying to sign the winger, before Wenger rubbished it over the January transfer period, but it’s claimed that the Blues are monitoring Chamberlain’s situation in North London, as are Manchester United.
The 22-year-old is expected to hold crucial future talks with Arsenal officials over the next few months, and if no new contract can be agreed to or if Chamberlain cannot be promised more regular first-team football, he could be tempted to quit the club.
Chelsea and United Interested
If the England star does become available, it’s believed both Chelsea and United would like to be alerted as they are both admirers of the winger and his ability.
However, the uncertainty surrounding managers at both clubs could prevent a transfer happening any time soon.
United are planning on replacing Louis van Gaal over the summer, while Chelsea are still searching for their next permanent boss.
