Antonio Conte demands improvement from Chelsea star

Tiemoue Bakayoko has come under a lot of criticism of the Chelsea fans for his mistakes in the recent games. And now, Antonio Conte has jumped in to support him but has also asked the player to improve.

“Don’t forget that Bakayoko is a player who is very young and for many reasons he has played a lot games. I think he needs to improve in the tactical aspect with us and to go into our idea of football, but at the same time I think for a young player to play with us regularly is not simple. He is playing well and it’s normal to alternate good performances with less good. He’s a young player working very well and I’m very happy with his commitment and his behaviour. He has a lot of space for improvement.”

The signing of Bakayoko was questioned by a lot of pundits and Chelsea fans. Former Chelsea assistant manager, Ray Wilkins, was the most vocal about the ÂŁ40 million transfer from AS Monaco.

Wilkins repeatedly claimed that Bakayoko was not better than Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who was loaned out by Chelsea to Crystal Palace. The Englishman has earned his England first team debut thanks to the loan while Bakayoko has lost his place in the France squad recently.
