Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to sign Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa in this summer’s transfer window.
The former Liverpool man is set to leave the La Liga giants at the end of the current campaign and wants to return to the Premier League.
Several pundits have called for Wenger to bring an experienced defender to the Emirates Stadium for a number of seasons; the Spanish international could be exactly what the club need.
At 32 years of age he has bags of experience and has played in England’s top flight before during his days at Anfield.
Arbeloa is avaiable for just £3.6 millon but the Gunners will have to fight off competition from Napoli, who are managed by Arbeloa’s former Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez.
