Arsenal have dropped out of the race to sign Eduardo Vargas on a loan deal, however Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland are both keen on the Napoli man, according to The Metro.

The 24 year old forward has been out of favour at the Italian Serie A side, and has spent time on loan at Brazilian club Gremio, and Spanish side Valencia.

However Arsenal have ruled themselves out of the loan deal, with Vargas representing Chile at this summer’s World Cup finals.

Premier League sides QPR and Sunderland are now in prime position to battle it out, according to reports in Italy over the weekend.

The Hoops of QPR are keen for a loan with an option to buy at the end of their Premier League season.
