Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he is happy with Arsenal’s business in the January transfer window after signing Polish youngster Krystian Bielik and capturing Gabriel Paulista for £15m. In addition to this, Arsenal also managed to extend the contracts of Francis Coquelin and Chuba Akpom.
He said: “I’m very happy with the business we did (in the transfer window).
“We met our targets and extended Chuba Akpom’s and Francis Coquelin’s contracts.”
With Napoli interested in Coquelin, Arsenal still managed to extend the midfielder’s contract until 2019 after using the youngster to control their games as a defensive midfielder. Coquelin is also expected to start in the North London derby against Tottenham on Sunday.
Napoli are now going to look elsewhere for recruiting players.
