Chelsea are set to bid £25 million for Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin Du Bruyne in the summer, according to reports in Belgium.
The 23-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga this season, having netted 19 times, and assisted 11 goals, as Wolfsburg sit in second place in the German top-flight.
His superb form at club level in Germany has alerted interest from Jose Mourinho, with reports in the Belgian media suggesting that he may bid to re-sign the player who he sold in January 2014.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also both expressed an interest in the player, who has also played for Genk and fellow Bundesliga outfit, Weder Breman in his career.
Wolfsburg Club director Klaus Allofs said: “Kevin is still tied to 2019.
“But if a player develops extraordinary, it may be that we sit down together and see the
Du Bruyne’s agent, Patrick Koster, also stated a move back to England would be unlikely.
He said: “De Bruyne is feeling very good.
“After a difficult period at Chelsea he is finally playing continuously.
“He does not want to move. He’s only concentrating on [getting Wolfsburg] to the Champions League.”
