Arsenal are still interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani this Summer, despite the player revealing his intentions to stay put in France.

The Uruguayan international has been linked with an exit from Paris after a less-than impressive season in Ligue 1, and after mainly being used down the wing to supply Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it was believed that he would seek an exit from the club, despite joining this time last year.

According to reports in Spain, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Angel Di Maria’s future, and they are confident that if PSG manage to land the Argentinian, they will look to sell Cavani, and that is when Arsenal are ready to make their move.

Cavani, who has previously been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool, could be forced out of the club if Di Maria is signed due to Financial Fair Play rules which could punish PSG for overspending.

Spanish journalist, Kike Marin, believes Arsene Wenger is a massive fan of Cavani and he is desperate to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this season, in order to help take the load off Olivier Giroud’s shoulders, who was the only recognised centre-forward at the club last season.
