Mikel Arteta won’t allow Aaron Ramsdale to leave in the winter transfer window.

The out-of-favour English goalkeeper is unhappy with his current role at the Emirates and has been linked with a move away from the North London club.

Aaron Ramsdale joined the Gunners from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021 and has cemented the No.1 spot in between sticks since then.

He signed a three-year contract extension earlier in May but the England international has found himself on the bench for seven of Arsenal’s last nine matches in all tournaments.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper is no longer a starter and considering his future this January.

He played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s league title challenge last season and kept a total of 15 clean sheets in the process.

But Mikel Arteta decided to sign David Raya from Brentford on loan this summer which put Ramsdale down the pecking order.

Ramsdale hasn’t featured in each of Arsenal’s last eight games across all competitions which would hamper his chances of making it in the England squad.

Despite the uncertainty over his future, Arsenal will consider letting the Englishman leave on loan this January.
