Arsenal are weighing up a move for former Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra.
The 29 year old is currently a free agent after he left Russian club Lokomotiv Moskow in the summer, and is thought to be keen on a return to the Premier League.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be interested in re-signing the midfielder, who played under him during the 2007/08 season after moving from city rivals Chelsea, particularly after Arsenal’s Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
Arsenal’s captain Mikel Arteta in particular was criticised for a poor performance in Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat in Germany, and with Jack Wilshere also picking up an injury during the game, Wenger may decide to bolster his options in midfield by recruiting Diarra.
Diarra nearly move to QPR during the summer, but saw the move fall through after an issue arose between the player and Lokomotiv.
