Arsenal manager has his say on fierce-rival losing his job

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has had his say on the sacking of long-term rival Jose Mourinho, and he’s admitted he’s ‘sad’ to see the Portuguese lose his job.

The two managers have made it very clear that they don’t like each other and their constant digs at each other in press conferences were a regular in the Premier League, but Wenger has admitted the news on Thursday upset him.

Chelsea decided to part ways with Mourinho after a woeful start to the new campaign, with the Blues in 16th place after nine losses in their first 16 games.

Guus Hiddink has taken charge until the end of the season, but Wenger was today asked about Chelsea’s decision to sack Mourinho and how he feels about his rival leaving the club once again.

Wenger Talks Mourinho

“There’s no need to add anything,” Wenger said.

“I don’t want anyone to lose their job.

“I think it’s always sad when people lose their job.”

Wenger finally managed to beat a Mourinho team earlier this season in the Community Shield, but then he suffered defeat when they met at Stamford Bridge in the league.
