Arsene Wenger tips Chelsea to go unbeaten

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, believes Chelsea could go the whole Premier League season unbeaten, much like his side did back in 2003/2004.

The Gunners are the only side to go a whole Premier League campaign unbeaten, as Wenger’s side won 26 games and drew the other 12, and the Frenchman believes this current Chelsea side could achieve the same feat.

Jose Mourinho’s side have won all their games bar two, when they drew away to the Manchester sides, and Wenger has tipped them to go unbeaten due to their squad having ‘all the right ingredients’.

“Everything is possible in any moment,” Wenger said.

“It’s only 10 years since we did it and football has not changed in 10 years.

“But it’s very early to say that. We played 49 games – more than a season – so it’s a bit early.”

He added: “I’m an attacking manager, but when you need to score four goals to win the game it’s one hell of a mountain to climb.

“To attack with freedom you need to also think, ‘okay I can go,’ and be sure you will be secure defensively. In the modern game the physical levels have done up – every one is quicker – so you cannot guarantee that you will score three or four goals in every game.

“I don’t think teams attack much better, but they defend much better than 10 years ago.”
