Defender is wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool
AS Monaco star Aymen Abdennour is ready to leave the club, according to his agent.
The centre-back has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool both interested and the duo have been alerted by comments made by the player’s agent.
The Tunisian international hasn’t had a falling out with officials at the Ligue 1 club, but he is ready to leave and wants a new challenge in a different country.
Despite the interest from the English duo, Abdennour‘s agent has confirmed that a move to Serie A could be the favoured choice, with the defender keen on a move to Italy.
According to some reports, AC Milan and Juventus are considering bids for the centre-back.
Agent Speaks Out
“There are no problems with [Monaco manager Leandro] Jardim or the club,” his rep Kader Jilani said.
“But the truth is that Abdennour wants to leave. He wants a new adventure, and there are opportunities in Spain, Italy and England.
“The priority would be Serie A, he would like that a lot.
“There’s been some contact, with Milan for example [who couldn’t sign him until 2016, due to rules on non-EU players], and Roma and Inter showed some interest too.
“Juventus? No, I can’t confirm that. What’s clear is that the lad’s intention is to leave.”
