Arsenal Football Club have announced that right-back Bacary Sagna will join Premier League champions Manchester City once his contract expires on 30th June.

The 31-year-old has been at Arsenal since 2007 after signing from French side Auxerre, but after several contract disputes with the club, he made his decision around Christmas time that he would be leaving the club and ending his seven year stay in North London.

Throughout his seven years, Sagna featured 284 times for Arsene Wenger’s side and ended his career there celebrating the club’s first trophy in nine years, the FA Cup, after a 3-2 victory against Hull City.

The Frenchman released a formal statement yesterday thanking the club, the fans and Wenger, who he said ‘changed his life’.
