Bayern Munich have reported tabled their first offer worth €80m for Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.
The Bavarians have already made improvements to their defence line with the addition of Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez. Now, they need to address the departure of club legends, Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery.
While the club already has the likes of Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, Bayern are looking for a marquee player to take over the roles of the legendary duo.
Sane is certainly a big name in the Premer League after his performances last season. However, the 23-year-old has seen his involvement in the City first-team reduce considerably this term. Pep Guardiola has often selected Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling over Sane and this could follow into the 2019/20 season as well.
Bayern plan on fully taking advantage of the situation. They could hand Sane a way back into the Bundesliga and with regular playing time, it would also improve his chances of selection into the German national team.
Sky and Guardian journalist, Fabrizio Romano revealed that City have yet to respond to Bayern’s offer. The Premier League giants are expected to reject the first bid but could be convinced if it is increased to €100m. The speedy winger is definitely playing his part by hesitating to sign a contract extension.
