Striker is wanted by Italian trio
Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is still trying to earn himself a move away from Anfield and is in talks with Fiorentina, according to his agent.
The Italian forward has failed to impress in Merseyside since arriving back in 2012 and is to be sold permanently by Brendan Rodgers this summer.
Borini’s Struggles
Borini spent the 2013/2014 season out on loan with Premier League side Sunderland, but the 24-year-old the rejected a chance to leave Liverpool on a permanent basis the following year.
Queens Park Rangers were close to signing him after having a bid accepted, but the Italian pulled the deal and refused to leave The Reds.
However, after another season without regular first-team football, the striker is finally ready to end his misery in Liverpool.
Fiorentina, Lazio and Bologna are the reported interested parties, but his agent has confirmed that Viola are the team that are in talks with him.
Agent Speaks
“We are looking for an important project in Italy or elsewhere, but for the moment he doesn’t have a preference.”
Liverpool’s signings of Danny Ings and Christian Benteke have strengthened Borini’s desire to leave the club, with Rickie Lambert and/or Mario Balotelli set to follow suit.
