Middlesbrough are set to sell their potent striker

Newly promoted Bournemouth have had a £3.5 million offer accepted for Middlesbrough forward Lee Tomlin, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

Tomlin scored ten goals for Aitor Karanka‘s side last season, as they narrowly missed out on joining Bournemouth in the Premier League, eventually losing 2-0 to Norwich in the Championship play off final.

However the player has hardly featured in Boro’s pre season campaign, with his future seemingly away from the Riverside.

It is believed the Cherries will pay an initial fee of £3 million, plus add-ons for the 26 year old, who is expected to complete a medical on Wednesday, before putting pen to paper at Dean Court.

He is set to become Eddie Howe‘s ninth summer signing, after Max Gradel signed earlier on Tuesday, as the club builds a squad equipped for Premier League survival.
