Villarreal defender, Gabriel Paulista, has been granted a work permit ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal.
The centre-back is now set to fly over to London in order to complete a medical before officially announcing the deal.
Arsenal will pay a fee of £11.3million for the 24-year-old Brazilian with striker, Joel Campbell, going the opposite direction on loan until the end of the season.
Arsene Wenger has moved fast this month, already signing Kyrstian Bielik, who’s a young central-defensive midfielder, and now securing the signing of Paulista, who has been a rock for Villarreal this season.
The deal is likely to be announced either this evening or tomorrow morning.
