Mourinho praises Chelsea legend Drogba

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has labelled Chelsea legend, Dider Drogba, as Chelsea’s ‘best-value signing ever’.

These comments from the Blue’s boss came after Drogba was awarded with a contribution to football honour by the Football Writers’ Association.

Mourinho claimed that Drogba has repaid the club with his loyal service over the years, after Chairman Roman Abramovich splashed £24 million to bring him in from Marseille in 2004.

Mourinho said: “I was very strong to persuade my club to pay such an amount for him and I think we can already say he was the best-value signing for Chelsea in relation to what he has done for the club over so many years, and he is not finished yet.”

The former Ivory Coast international has given the Chelsea fans many memorable moments. The unforgettable one being the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final.

The 36-year old scored in 157 goals in 341 appearances in his first spell at Chelsea, before returning at the beginning of the current campiagn.
