Arsenal veteran suffers another injury blow

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky will be sidelined for a further three months after suffering an injury on his return to first-team football.

The long-serving midfielder made his return to action against Burnley in the FA Cup, but then suffered a serious thigh injury which will now keep him out of action for around three months.

The 35-year-old has missed the entire season through a groin injury, but made his long-awaited return at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, but it’s now looking like he’s played his final game in an Arsenal shirt.

Rosicky‘s contract expires in the summer and Arsenal have no plans on extending his deal, meaning he will be released at the end of the season.

Rosicky Blow

Asked if the Czech had played his last game as an Arsenal player, Arsene Wenger replied with: “I hope not but the injury is quite a serious one.”

Rosicky has been at Arsenal for 10-years, after arriving back in 2006, but his time in North London has been plagued with injuries.
