Ronald Koeman has confirmed he is interested in signing the defender

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has told Everton to forget about signing Michael Keane, according to reports today.

The defender has impressed many with his performances for the Turf Moor side in both the Championship and this year in the Premier League as well.

He has established himself as one of Burnley’s most important and key players and it has unsurprisingly led to interest from other teams.

One of those teams is Everton, who have confirmed their interest in the 24-year old. Boss Ronald Koeman is a fan of the player and is eager to sign him up for the Toffees.

Everton plotting summer move

Although a deal looks unlikely to happen before the January transfer window closes, the club plan to follow up on their interest in the summer.

Not only does Koeman believe that the defender would be a huge asset for his side to have but he also views the 24-year old as being a long-term replacement for Phil Jagielka.

Sean Dyche though is a huge admirer of Keane and is extremely reluctant to let go of one of his most important players. So much so, that he has told Everton to keep away from the centre-back, as he has no plans to let him go.

Keane has featured 25 times for Burnley this season so far and has helped his side grind out results against top sides. They held Man United to a draw earlier this season and also beat Liverpool and Everton.
