Capello: Mourinho burns out his players

The ex-England boss has claimed that the Special One is exhausting his players.

Fabio Capello believes that Jose Mourinho has burnt out his Chelsea players.

The Blues have started the 2015/16 season horribly and many believe that Mourinho could soon be out of a job if it continues, despite Roman Abramovich’s claims that he is safe.

Capello believes that it is down to the Special One exhausting his players – he believes the Chelsea boss can only get the best out of his players during the first 18 months of his reign as a manager.

It would explain why the Stamford Bridge side have only won two of their opening eight games so far this season.

Capello told the Express: “Mourinho is a great coach, but after a year and a half he burns out his players.

“His men are mentally unable to give him what he wants. The cycles of the current Chelsea manager all tend to last more or less this time.

“After that his teams have no rhythm, they are missing the malice and there is no aggression.”

Chelsea are currently sat in 16th place in the Premier League table and have no game this weekend due to an international break.
