Antonio Cassano wants countryman to join him in Italy
Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano has been texting Mario Balotelli in order to try and convince him to join the Serie A side.
The Reds striker is not wanted by Brendan Rodgers and has been excluded from the first-team squad, including for training, where he has been pictured training with the club’s reserves.
The Italian international didn’t go on the pre-season tour with the club due to family issues, but since the team have returned, he’s been training away from the rest of his team-mates.
Balotelli is one of three players that Rodgers has excluded from the first-team, along with Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique.
Cassano Wants Transfer
The trio are all expected to leave Anfield over the summer and Cassano wants to see Balotelli join him at Sampdoria.
According to Italian paper Il Secolo XIX, Cassano texted Balotelli saying: ‘Come to Samp and you won’t regret it, we’ll do great things together.’
