Premier League giants prepare to battle for €50m signing

Chelsea and Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit of PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko, putting the 20-year-old Belgian star as a top target for the summer transfer window.

According to reports, both Premier League giants are getting ready to compete with Manchester City for Bakayoko’s signature, with the teenage forward/winger commanding a high price tag of €50 million to €60 million.

Bakayoko, a top player for PSV in the Eredivisie, has drawn interest from several European clubs, especially Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund. Despite significant interest from Manchester United in January and a previous rejected deal from Brentford, Chelsea and Liverpool have emerged as front-runners in the race to sign him.

The dynamic attacker has proven his value on the field, netting six goals and assisted eight times in 25 games this season. His impact goes beyond domestic competition, with outstanding performances in the Champions League, including a goal against Lens and appearances against Arsenal.

Bakayoko, who rose through the ranks of PSV’s prestigious youth program, has established himself as one of Belgium’s most promising young players, gaining nine caps for his country. With his contract expiring in 2026, PSV has the challenge of preserving their prized asset amidst growing interest from European giants.

Bakayoko’s potential departure follows his important part in PSV’s impressive campaign, which has the club ready to win the Eredivisie title with a commanding 10-point lead. His accomplishments include winning the KNVB Cup last season and receiving many Eredivisie brilliance of the Month awards, showing his emerging brilliance and potential effect on the global stage.
