Officials at Stamford Bridge fearing summer exodus

Chelsea officials are fearing as many as nine first-team players could leave the club this summer after being knocked out of the Champions League.

The Blues‘ only hope of being in next year’s competition was by winning it this year, but following a 4-2 aggregate defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, they were eliminated in the last-16 round.

With their struggles in domestic football as well, it’s looking very unlikely that they’ll finish in the top-four this season, meaning they will have no Champions League football at Stamford bridge.

With that in mind, officials at the club are worried that some players may push for an exit.

Nine Set For Exit

According to reports, the Chelsea board believe the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Nemanja Matic, Loic Remy and John Terry are all certain to leave, with the latter seeing his contract expire.

However, they also think loan-duo Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato won’t stay on permanently, and also fear that Diego Costa and Pedro could jump ship too.

Chelsea are set to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager ahead of next season, but it could be a new-look squad come the first game of the 2016/2017 campaign.
