Chelsea interested in Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs this summer and he could finally make a move this January transfer window.
Lyon had a disastrous start to their new campaign and relegation looks like a serious possibility after some awful performances so far.
Rayan Cherki is considered one of the brightest talents in Europe and he is now part of a struggling Lyon side.
His deal at Lyon runs until the summer of 2025 and the departure of the teenage sensation in the January transfer window is now a real possibility.
But transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano denies that the teenager was linked with Chelsea in the summer.
“Despite links, Rayan Cherki was never an option for Chelsea in the summer, I don’t know why there were so many rumours on Cherki and Chelsea but they always had different plans and it was tactical reason,” Romano wrote.
“For sure it’s not an easy moment at Lyon for him, it’s also understandable to be in tense situation when things are not working… I’m sure there are many clubs keen on signing him in case he will be available.”
