Chelsea are ready to persuade Eden Hazard to put pen to paper on a new deal. The Belgian international’s current deal runs until 2020.
Although there are no imminent threats on Hazard’s future, there are possibilities Real Madrid may poach him in summer to continue the rebuilding process following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real’s interest in the 27 year old is nothing new and even the player admitted he would love to join the Spanish giants one day. Hazard has hit the best phase of his career and has lit up the Premier League with his brilliant form.
Maurizio Sarri’s influence is clearly being felt and the Blues hierarchy now wants to open contract discussion with the player. Chelse are very much in the title race and they are due to host Manchester United after the international break.
Hazard recently revealed his dream move but he also claimed he loves Chelsea very much as he got his recognition at the Stamford Bridge. “Sometimes in my head, I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay.
“It is a hard decision. It is my future. I am 27 and will turn 28 in January.
“I want what’s good for me but I want what’s good for the club because the club has given me everything. I don’t want to say ‘yes I am signing a new contract’ and then in the end I don’t end up signing. So I will see.”
