FC Tokyo have claimed that they have recieved a bid from Chelsea for their star striker Yoshinori Muto.
It is understood that the Blues have been keeping tabs on the forward since last May and have finally made an offer in an attempt to bring the player to Stamford Bridge once the transfer window opens in the summer.
£4 million pounds is the offer that is believed to have been offered to FC Tokyo, with the player being dubbed the ‘Japenese Messi’ after breaking into the national side set-up last year.
“It is true that Chelsea sent us an offer for Muto,” FC Tokyo president Naoki Ogane said.
“It is a formal offer with conditions. They want to acquire him in the summer.”
Chelsea could however face difficulties in recieving a work permit for Muto as they would have to appeal to the Home Office for any move to be completed.
