Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Barcelona full-back Daniel Alves.
Alves is in the final year of his contract at the Nou Camp, has been tipped to leave the Catalan club in the summer, despite talks over a potential extention at Barcelona.
Earlier in the season, rumours suggested that Alves was set to be heading out the exit door, after a fall out with manager Luis Enrique, with several sides lining up deals for him.
However, reports in Spain suggest that the 31-year-old is now a proposed target for Manchester United, with Louis Van Gaal said to be ‘confident’ about landing the player, who signed from Barcelona from Sevilla in 2006.
United are hoping that former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes can convince Alves to join him in Manchester.
